Feeling a bit more energetic then the norm - possibly it was the cup of Matcha that gave me an extra surge of energy - who knows! With pep in my step I felt it best to get an early start on mowing the neighbors yard especially because it has been one wet summer for us folk here in ole’ St. Petersburg. So much so that it has made getting out to mow the grass before a downpour a wee bit of a challenge.
Shortly after starting the mower, out of my peripheral the eye catches a neighbor attempting to get my attention by the wave of a hand and from what appeared to be a scowl on her face -- she wasn’t waving to extend a morning hello and how do. Unable to get a resolve before she stampers from where she came and I continued to mow. It’s hot, way too humid and with the distant rumble of occasional thunder I scurry to another yard out of charity due to circumstances -- the grass had reached a height that would soon be cause for neighboring complaints.
As the distant rumble of occasional thunder continued there was a rumble closer to home, my stomach was growling. Once the duty and obligation was met I returned home to cool down wondering what might satisfy the ole' tastebuds while filling the belly. I mentally scan the refrigerator and pantry when the light bulb goes off — grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup.
Now the grilled cheese sandwich I am thinking is not the catalyst for making grilled cheese sandwich back in the day — a cheap loaf of bread and usually processed cheese. No, I have been hankering to try a different twist to my standard. Today I was going to make a Muenster and Avocado Grilled Cheese sandwich.
As for the tomato soup, I was too hot, too tired to make my preferred fresh batch of tomato soup so instead always keep my second preferred, Amy's Organic Soup, Chunky Tomato Bisque on hand.
While the grilled cheese sandwich may not be the healthiest of sandwiches it was indeed what the tastebuds were hankering for and by gosh, after eating the Muenster and Avocado Grilled Cheese it might be a bit difficult to go back to the standard grilled cheese sandwich. O, and my apology in that there are not pictures to share. Honestly, I wolfed down the sandwich so quickly I forgot all about taking a picture or two.
The next time you get a hankering for a grilled cheese sandwich, I share the recipe for the Muenster and Avocado Grilled Cheese sandwich thanks to Sarah E. Crowder post at the kitchn website.
